About (or a Brief History)

Hello again! Thanks for visiting my About page. Since you're here, I'm assuming you want to know something about me. I'll try to make this interesting, but I cannot guarantee satisfaction.

In 1999, I graduated from college with a double major in Visual Communications and Illustration. Late that year I decided to call my freelance business "Tangle." What can I say? I was in love with Thirst, emigre, The Attic, Play, etc.

After college, I landed a sweet job at a lil' design firm (Paetzold Design). It was a good gig. I wish I could have stuck around there a lot longer than I did.

Then, the Dot Com Crash swept down upon us all. Several months later I became a victim of the Dreaded Downsize, and decided to do Tangle full time. That was fun, and very difficult at times. I've heard that you have to be a little crazy to start your own business, and I firmly believe this to be true. After 3 years of being my own boss, I decided to close down Tangle, Inc. It was a pretty good run. Met some awesome people and got to do some amazing work.

Afterwards, I went to work for The Man. You know, the guy at The Corporation? The corporation in question was LBP Manufacturing. I worked at LBP for 2+ years, and was priviledged to work with some absolutely amazing people that I wish I could work with again.

Currently, I am a fulltime Dad and also owner of 2 businesses: Rocket No. 9, LLC and Happy Little Monsters. My bosses are very demanding and picky about my time (of course you realize these are 2 sons, both 4 and/or under). I'm happily married and happily existing, although I really wish I had more free time.
